Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA) division
The Africa Youth and Adolescents Network on Population and Development (AfriYAN) East and Southern Africa, is a regional youth network for advocacy on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Youth Development in Africa.
AfriYAN works to develop ideas and create innovative ways of answering young people’s social and economic problems;
informing policies, participating in the process of sustainable development agenda and frameworks;
committing governments to accelerate discussions on youth engagement; and
participation at regional and global levels promoting meaningful youth led accountability.
Today, the network has functional in 21 countries and more discussions are on the way for another three Chapters. At country level, AfriYAN networks are taking leading roles to coordinate and ensure joint advocacy empowerment, capacity building and accountability for SRHR and youth and meaningful youth participation in policy, program development and implementation.
